Featured Artist

Robin Ranga

Robin is a mixed-media artist who explores form, composition and design, using a diverse range of materials to capture what she calls “nature’s endurance and precision”.

Since graduating in 2005 with a Bachelor of Visual Arts at AUT, she has exhibited widely and won numerous awards from painting and ceramics at events including the Royal Easter Show. She was a finalist in the Portage ceramics awards in 2009 and 2010. She exhibited in the New Zealand Sculpture on Shore event in 2010 and 2012. Robin is a member of the Dust Art Collective, who are all visual arts graduates from AUT, Elam and the Manukau Institute of Technology.

Following her notion that “perception is a personal interpretation in all we do, see and feel”, Robin believes that her art, whether it be in paint or clay, should encourage the viewer to personalise and interpret both negative and positive form and space.
