Ioana Schwalger

Ioana Schwalger is a painter and photographer based in Auckland, New Zealand. She completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography at Auckland University's Elam School of Fine Arts in 1997. Since then Ioana has been commissioned to create work for a variety of people and companies. She also teaches art and photography at a secondary school in Auckland.

 

Ioana's painting style is bright, vibrant and graphic and her photographic images often capture the celebrations of life. The inspiration for her work can be attributed to her Samoan heritage, New Zealand culture and Christian beliefs.
