Eve Borley

Much of Eve’s inspiration comes from the bush surrounding her Murrays Bay Auckland home and studio where she produces her acrylic and mixed media art works.

Eve’s art began as a hobby, developing into a full-time passion some seven years ago. “I love it. It is my happy place and I’m never short of inspiration.”

More recently Eve has extended her repertoire from acrylics to multi-media works with acrylic. She especially enjoys the tactile experience of working with a variety of materials to create what she describes as the “story telling part” of an artwork that unfolds layer by layer until she is happy with the resulting sense of depth and texture. Eve’s work recently earned her an award at the Jan 2013 Great Summer Art Sale. Over the past four years she has sold more than 180 works to buyers throughout New Zealand, Australia, California and Dubai. Her work is showcased in galleries and in exhibitions throughout New Zealand.

Featured Artist

Jill Perrott

In the early 1990s Jill returned to her lifelong love of painting, having been a pupil of Colin McCahon and others at Elam during the 1960s. Travel, raising a family, and working in educational publishing preoccupied her for several decades until her first small local exhibition in Lopdell House Titirangi in 1997. Her works in this show featured Auckland’s West Coast and her interpretation of that enduring theme has led to many more exhibitions and various awards.

Jill was profiled in the November 2006 publication "New Zealand's favourite artists". She is represented by throughout New Zealand including the Matakana Gallery, the Little River Gallery in Christchurch and the De Novo gallery in Dunedin.
