Marie Sanders
Marie graduated from the three year course at the Wellington School of Graphic Design in 1971 and went on to a career in design and advertising that included specializing in fashion illustration.
She was introduced to pastels and she immediately loved working with them as a drawing medium. “I found the special qualities of pastel were ideal for life drawing, enabling me to capture the movement of a figure in a quick sketch, the details of the face for a portrait, and the glorious colours in a landscape.”
Marie teaches general pastel classes, including landscapes, still life, and portraits at the Mairangi Arts Centre and at the Uxbridge Arts Centre in Howick.
