Having been involved in the art industry for over 30 years I decided it was time not only to expand my knowledge in the printing products available but to also explore the process of printmaking so in 2006 I joined the Mairangi Printmakers under the guidance of Joan Taylor Stephens a well known and respected printmaker in NZ and started my journey into printmaking.

 

I have experimented with various styles and print processes along the way and have enjoyed not only the etching process (Hard ground, soft ground aquitint) but also photogravure solar plate and relief printing. The subject that I use mainly for my work is revolved around the sea which I am passionate about having spent many hours sailing in our beautiful waters of the Hauraki Gulf.

 

Over the five years I have exhibited my work with success being awarded 2007 the MAC Students & Members printmaking merit award and 2009 the MAC Printmaking award. In 2010 was awarded a merit prize at the Auckland Easter Show exhibition.

 

I am a regular exhibitor at Estuary Arts at Orewa, Mairangi Art Centre and Fine Line Gallery at Matakana.
